Assist bureau director in the development, implementation, and executive management of programs and policies for the Laboratory and Consumer Protection Bureau.
Perform a full range of executive secretarial and related duties using considerable independent judgment in making decisions.
Coordinate bureau director's schedule and maintain electronically.
Coordinates and supervises bureau office functions with other units and sections of the department, bureaus and divisions when needed.
Facilitate planning and scheduling of Executive Management Team meetings.
Serves as liaison with Human Resources.
Assists or independently gathers and summarizes data for special projects, maintains necessary files and databases.
Assist in coordinating management staff meetings and conference calls, developing agendas, taking notes, as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience Education Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
Experience Six years of administrative support experience where use of a personal computer to prepare correspondence, reports, charts, etc.
, or to enter/retrieve/update information is an essential part of the work, including three years equivalent to advanced (8) level administrative support work, Secretary E8, or Legal Secretary E8; two years equivalent to a Secretary 9, Legal Secretary 9, or Senior Executive Management Assistant 9; or, one year equivalent to a Division Head Legal Secretary 10 or Executive Secretary E10.

Vacation and Sick Leave:
Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used.
Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.
Paid Parental Leave:
Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
Paid Holidays:
Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year's Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr.
Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
