Performs a full range of university-wide (on- and off-campus) responsibilities, using state-of-the-art tools, equipment, and diagnostic/management software to install, test, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain the network cable system and network/wireless devices; resolves network and wireless problems reported through the MSUnet trouble report line, problem database, and network monitoring station; problems can be hardware or software related; provides technical assistance and advice to campus wired and wireless network users and customers; maintains and increases technical knowledge through coursework, workshops, independent study, and seminars.
Minimum Requirements;
Knowledge such as that which normally would be acquired in the first two to three years of college, technical or vocational school in electronics technology, computer communications or a related field; one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in local area networks and/or wireless data communications; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; possession of a valid vehicle operator's license.
Desired Qualifications;
NETWORK
certification; experience completing wireless building site surveys, installation of wireless access points and antennas, and troubleshooting wireless network issues, including RF interference; experience with wired and wireless network technology and hardware, including HP and Juniper network products and Cisco and Meru wireless products; experience with Sky Pilot Networks; experience using network diagnostic tools similar to a spectrum analyzer, Fluke Air Check WiFi Tester, and Ether Scope; experience with installation of network equipment in IDF/MDF locations; experience with Visio and CAD; excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work alone or with others and solve high visibility, complex problems in a professional and timely manner; experience with reading network maps and performing technical documentation.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
