Michigan State University seeks a dynamic information technologist to serve as Application Security Manager. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a vibrant public research university and perform application security analysis across a $2 billion enterprise; the manager will help protect MSU systems and data through the use of web application firewalls, application penetration testing and code review; this position will report to the Chief Information Security Officer of MSU and will specialize in securing Web applications across the university; the successful candidate will determine the potential impact of specific identified threats; assess and mitigate risks; will perform code analysis; assists with code hardening; will create application security guidance and advisory; this position will require a highly qualified individual who has strong problem solving and technical skills, a strong critical thinker who is detail oriented, and can analyze and process large applications; the candidate should be able to be responsive and biased towards speed and execution; can work under pressure across multiple roles and hierarchies, is highly collaborative, but can work independently, and is innovative.
Minimum Requirements;
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a bachelors degree in computer science, or related information technology field, with coursework in application development; five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience developing, testing and deploying applications; experience with Windows Server, Internet Information Services ( IIS ) and MS SQL Server; experience with Linux, Apache HTTP Server and MySql; experience with multiple programming languages such as PHP, Perl, C++, C#, JavaScript, SQL etc; familiarity with ASP.NET Framework; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications;
Master's degree in computer science or related degree involving application development; familiar with Web Vulnerability Scanners such as Acunetix Vulnerability Scanner and Qualys Web Application Scanner; experience with Web application firewalls; excellent interpersonal/communication skills (both verbal and written); application Security related certifications, such as: Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP); general security certifications, such as: Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
