Info Tech I - System Administrator

The successful candidate will maintain, design, configure, deploy, and administer various applications and servers for the Teaching and Learning division of IT Services at Michigan State University; provides tier III support for the help desk.
Minimum Requirements;
A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related information technology field; three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience supporting Windows or Linux server infrastructures, web applications, and cloud services; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in supporting Windows (IIS, SQL, Server) and/or Linux (Apache, MySQL, PostgreSQL, PHP); knowledge of security policies, firewalls, VLANs, and network configuration; knowledge of scripting languages for task automation; familiarity with common networking protocols, firewall configuration and troubleshooting, and excellent deductive skills; understanding and accepting the need to support a 24/7 service; has understanding of ITIL framework and ability to deliver services within agreed upon service levels; self motivator, has strong oral and written communication skills, and can work independently or with a team to accomplish complex tasks; ability to lead a project and has familiarity with project management processes and projects.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
