IT Support Desk Temp

IT Services provides central technology support across both the academic and administrative domains of Michigan State University. The Support Desk (Technology, Network & Classroom Services) has a need for two temporary employees to help out with phone calls related to Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) from approximately mid-February to mid-April.
Will provide phone or chat troubleshooting support to the MSU community regarding issues related to a new authentication process; identifies customers needs and handles their questions related to that process. Needs to possess basic IT skills such as using Microsoft Word and Excel. Support will require the use of technology tools and a central ticketing system. Must be self-motivated with close attention to detail, work successfully with diverse people and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. Good verbal and written skills are a necessity.
Hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Time Frame: mid-February to mid-April
Must provide a resume listing skills and work experience. Candidates will be interviewed and must complete a criminal background check prior to employment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
