Plans and directs all administrative, financial, and operational activities for the Office of the Vice President for IT Services and Chief Information Officer; manages planning and reporting processes in collaboration with senior management of IT Services; reviews and recommends IT policy guidelines and unit staffing strategies; manages vendor partnerships and assets and makes timely cost-effective recommendations to management; tracks ongoing projects and plans for future initiatives; facilitates decision making and timely completion and evaluation of projects as directed by the VP&CIO; oversees personnel operations for IT Services; coordinates the financial analysis activities throughout the MAU; makes recommendations regarding management, structure and staffing at all levels; identifies needs and develops standards and procedures to ensure compliance with established university processes.
Minimum Requirements:
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing one or two years of post-bachelor degree work, such as master's in information sciences with relevant course work in business administration and/or computer science; more than eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience including at least four of the following: project management, applications design and programming, data center operations, systems programming, database administration, office automation, production analysis, client computing, consulting services, financial management, long-range planning and data security; and management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of MSU business processes; experience working in higher education setting, preferably experience in information technology and IT financial management; experience managing and securing sensitive or restricted data; exceptional analytical and communication skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
