Management Development Associate

Position Summary
The Management Development Program is the fast track into management opportunities at MSUFCU. The program is very structured and well defined to help prepare associates for a career in management. The program includes classroom training, supplemental reading materials, hands-on experience, projects, interaction with senior leadership and more. Topics of the program include leadership, employee relations, communication skills, conflict management, team building, and strategic management. The program is a comprehensive 6-month on-the-job training program. During the program you will rotate through four training areas (Branches, Call Center, eServices and Lending) gaining knowledge and exposure, which will help develop your management techniques. Upon successful completion of the four training areas of the program, combined with a willingness to continue to learn and develop, your first promotion could be to an Assistant Manager or Manager role within the organization. It is among these individuals that we select candidates to advance into more senior positions.

Management Development Associates may be required to work evenings and Saturdays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Have advanced knowledge of duties and responsibilities performed as a Member Services Representative, Financial Service Representative/Officer, Call Center Specialist, and eServices Specialists
Take on risk and utilize lending limits commensurate with level while actively mentoring the same in others
Have an understanding of the Credit Union's strategic initiatives and align the branch or department to achieve those initiatives
Prepare and develop others to take on management roles within the Credit Union; developing staff members to senior levels
Use judgment and decision making skills to protect the members and the Credit Union, and teach others to do the same
Develop, implement and communicate strategic direction and goals for the branch or department which support the overall strategic direction and goals of the Credit Union
Offer excellent service to current and potential members and develop the same in others
Build relationships with members by educating them about products and services they could benefit from, and mentor and train others to do the same
Actively participate in branch and Credit Union incentives, mentor and train others to do the same
Be a role model by demonstrating initiative, responsibility, integrity, professionalism and dependability
Handle complex situations with confidence, knowledge and creativity
Use critical thinking skills to solve problems and improve processes, work efficiently and use time effectively
Seek training opportunities to develop or enhance knowledge
Accept ownership of, and remain current on, all new and existing information, processes and software
Maintain regular communication with leadership to share observations of strengths and areas for development within the branch or department and other situations as they arise
Support Credit Union promotions by providing training, support, monitoring, analyzing results and holding staff accountable for performance
Ensure development and motivation of employees to maximize their contribution to the Credit Union and ensure their quality of work
Assist in hiring, evaluation, disciplinary actions, recognition and review writing for employees
Actively work with employees in the disciplinary process to improve their work performance, while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
Actively communicate with staff for their development, including regularly providing feedback and direction
Recommend product and process improvements improve service to the members, protect the Credit Union's assets and increase productivity and operational efficiencies
Maintain branch or department compliance with Federal and State laws and regulation
Monitor staffing levels, scheduling and workflow to ensure adequate coverage to provide superior service and accomplish operational duties
Take on a leadership role within the Credit Union by participating and contributing as a member of the Credit Union's management team including representing the Credit Union in the community and in a volunteer capacity
Promote positive working relationships while working with other departments to provide superior service and consistency in processes for the membership and staff
Stay current on financial industry topics with ongoing education through readings, trainings, conferences, etc.
Participate in training activities within your department or branch and with the learning and talent development department; such training helps to ensure staff compliance with Credit Union policies and state and federal regulations and laws
Perform other duties and assist other employees, as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Bachelor degree required
Interest in developing management and leadership skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
