Learning and Talent Development Specialist

Position Summary
Assists the Learning and Talent Development team in the development and implementation of Credit Union training programs for the organization. This individual will be responsible for working with all Credit Union employees to increase quality of service to our members. This individual will be instrumental in providing training to all employees in order to increase the organization's effectiveness of staff in performance, member service, and compliance areas.
The Learning and Talent Development Specialist takes initiative and collaborates with all employees to develop, design, and facilitate effective training. Each training opportunity is developed with use of contemporary industry methodologies and requires frequent communication with all departments to meet organization objectives. This position requires consistent research and adaptability to frequent organizational initiatives. The Learning and Talent Development Specialist demonstrates belief and enthusiasm in our mission, values, and services we provide to employees and members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrate a positive attitude towards credit union initiatives and mission statement
Maintain a high level of integrity; treat members and coworkers with courtesy and respect
Foster teamwork and a supportive work environment
Communicate and meet with key department representatives to determine organization needs
Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships in and outside of department
Research, design, develop, and evaluate instructional materials
Create, propose, and develop training plans that evaluate organizational needs
Integrate mission statement into all learning programs
Plan and coordinate learning opportunities
Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs
Seek knowledge of internal operations procedures through the branches, call center, and e-services
Document processes to ensure compliance with credit union policies, as well as State and Federal regulations
Consult with department manager and specialists to review best practices of content and delivery
Correspond with management to gain approval for project plan and materials from manager as well as organization Vice Presidents and management
Create, maintain, and edit instructional materials
Lead training sessions for all staff throughout organization with confidence and approachability
Give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate and not interrupting at inappropriate times
Determine and recommend process improvement solutions for training department
Present training programs using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures
Assist with MSUFCU events and morale boosters, i.e.:
loan promotions, charity events, staff picnics, Credit Union Week, etc.
Evaluate and adjust training content and delivery
Teach operations programs that provide basic job skills
Gain knowledge of organizational development methods
Seek professional development opportunities
Provide all employees with resources to utilize post-training for professional development
Adapt to schedule, project assignment, and classroom changes
Prepare and schedule training classroom, supplies, and technology
Print and assemble classroom materials
Organize and track training plans, rosters, and schedules
Monitor and maintain classroom supplies
Support organizational initiatives of loan growth, brand image, member retention, efficiencies , and service
Manage several training projects and sessions concurrently
Participate in training activities to ensure staff compliance with Credit Union policies and state and federal regulations and laws
Perform other duties and assist other employees, as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
High school diploma required
Bachelor degree preferred
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office
High level of both written and oral communication skills
Communicate approachability verbally and non-verbally
Proficient with page layout and design
Friendly and confident public speaking skills
Willingness to take on responsibilities and new opportunities
Take inquisitive approach to enhance current procedures and methods to teach
Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time

Maintain active membership with community outreach and training associations, i.e. SHRM & ASTD

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
