IT Services University Systems is currently seeking an individual to serve as Application Administrator/Analyst for our Middleware Services Team. Our department is a fast-paced dynamic environment managing multiple customers and deadlines. The selected candidate will be responsible for working independently and with a team to provide proactive systems and software administration, monitoring, analysis along with troubleshooting and resolution of issues; will research issues/questions using all available resources and advise colleagues and customers of possible solutions; performs system modifications, upgrades, software updates to vended and custom developed applications and systems; works independently and with a team to complete projects; will diagnose and resolve system and software issues; tracks and routes issues to a successful completion, including communicating resolutions to management and customers; will administer user accounts and security on various platforms; monitors servers and services for performance, availability or other issues; performs system modifications, upgrades and software updates and any other needed maintenance to vended and internally developed applications and systems; will work with customers to collect requirements for requested work and bring to manager for approval, planning and prioritization; continuing professional development, training and education related to assigned responsibilities; will mentor team members in professional areas of expertise related to job responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements:
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in computer science or computer information systems; five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience supporting a Windows server infrastructure and the client server applications running in that environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications:
Ability to identify and escalate issues requiring urgent attention in a 24/7 environment; strong knowledge and understanding of administering and supporting Windows 2008 R2 Server, Windows 2012 Server, Internet Information Server, SQL Server; knowledge and understanding of administering and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (version 5, 6 or 7); skilled in network infrastructure operation (router, firewalls, switches, VLAN, VPN; proven experience in the operation of software and systems; strong knowledge in installation, configuration and maintenance of enterprise software solutions; experience with virtualization technologies (XEN, KVM, VMWare, VirtualBox, Hyper-V); knowledge of various network protocols TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, UDP, and routing protocols; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, cross functional team environment; ability to work independently on major projects and report progress to manager and customers; highly motivated with the ability to learn and research current technologies related to job assignments and bring possible resolutions to manager for approval; strong oral and written skills, including the ability to document issues and resolutions (including performing root cause analysis.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
